Elsa Spath - Incredibly long flowering and strong-growing, the 18cm (7in) flowers are darker as they open and make great cut flower.

Miss Bateman - Raised in the 1860s, this beautiful cultivar has two flushes of 15cm (6in), violet-scented from spring through to autumn. Good, spherical seedheads.

Ernest Markham - Raised from a batch of seedlings at Gravetye Manor, in Sussex, this cultivar produces many bright, 10cm (4in) flowers when grown in full sun.
